Celebrating 13 Years - Introducing Stencil - Layering Organic Blooms and Organic Bloom Clear Stamps
Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Welcome to day 4 of the Uniko 13th Birthday February Release introductions. Today myself and the Uniko Brand Ambassadors are Introducing Stencil - Layering Organic Blooms and Organic Bloom Clear Stamps.

I've fallen in love with designing layering stencils!!

Hopefully you have hopped on over from HERE where I've talked a little bit about the origin and inspiration for these two products.

Let's have a look what I have created for today.

First up is a card that was part of the Uniko 13th Birthday Stamping Retreat. Here I used the Organic Bloom Clear Stamps to stamp the flowers and the leaves. I then used the stencils to colour the stamped images.

I love the soft seamless colouring using stencils to colour can give. I fussy cut the images and layered them down the card, tucking in the leaves as I went.

As you can see I used a Dove grey card base and created a little stamped detail using the little trio of dots from the stamp set. I used Dove ink to give a tone on tone look. The sentiment is one from the set that I stamped and fussy cut. To finally finish I added some Nuvo Drops to the flower centres.

Next I wanted to use just the stencils on their own, apart from adding a sentiment.

This is quite a delicate stencil, in that the leaves are very floaty. So it is a little tricky to keep them in place when inking. I have a few tips I use , that I will share in my video today.

I start with the leaves layer with this 4 layer stencil. Although everything it completely lined up in the 6x6" square stencils, as long as you know where you have placed the first it doesn't really matter which of them you start with.

The flowers, petal detail and flower centres are the only parts of the layers that overlap, so you need some colours that will layer nicely together.

My sentiment is another one from the Organic Blooms Stamp Set. Here I stamped it on a leftover strip of card and adhered it using foam tape.

Next is another mainly stencilled card, but I added some subtle stamped detail to the flowers instead of the stencilled detail.

I used a different for me colour combination for this card and I am still a little undecided if I like it - haha! I like the Rainforest green for the leaves and the pinks, its the oranges that I am unsure of!

For this I used 3 of the stencil layers, the leaves, the flowers and then the petal detail. I then stamped the flower over the top in the darker shade of ink that I used for the petal detail.

The sentiment is another from the stamp set. I've tried to add in some go to sentiments that hopefully you will find useful.

Lastly for today I wanted to show how you can combine the leaves of this stencil with other Uniko clear stamps.

Originally when I was designing this stencil, I actually used the Uniko Style flowers. I finished what the stencil would look like as one layer and I thought. No.

Don't get me wrong, it looked awesome but I felt like I was cheating and really, not getting full potential from designing this layering stencil. Because why do the flowers as a stencil when I can just combine the leaf layer with the stamps!

Back to the thinking board I went and I started to trawl through my archives of designs and flowers and such. Some completed, some half designed etc.

I came across the flowers I designed for the Uniko Papercraft Society Box I designed for CraftStash. Which looks like it has now sold out. The flowers are quite small in the stamp sets in the box as I designed them to be able to crossover and be used with the Originally Organic stamps available here at Uniko and visa versa.

Anyway, the flower I used stood out to me and I thought. You know what, I'm going to make it bigger and use it with this stencil & stamp set. The rest they say is history!

Back to this card!

The short version of the story is, it basically shows that it will work with this Uniko Style clear stamp set. And most likely others, I have a few! But I have yet to sit down and discover which.

Maybe I will leave that up to you. What do you think?

I will have a video later over on the Uniko YouTube channel demoing this stencil. I hope you will check it out. Be sure to subscribe so that you are notified of when a new video drops.

Until tomorrow, Crafty Hugs

Bev, your floral cards here are delightful, creative and most definitely, smile-making. I certainly hope you ordered plenty of the new release products, because I’m predicting a sell-out of everything! Your showcases, along with those of your team, have brought me much joy this week.
